The Community News Group is seeking a hard-working reporter who can cover several neighborhoods in Brooklyn and is willing to work on extraordinarily tight web and print deadlines. The ideal candidate is tenacious and tireless, someone who wants to work in an exhilarating environment where a high value is placed on accuracy, speed, and prolificacy. Our aim is to train the next generation of journalists by cultivating stellar reporting and writing skills. This is the ultimate ground-floor position that will provide excellent reporting experience and exposure to the world of New York City journalism. It is also a position for a team player who appreciates writing stories that are off his or her beat, such as entertainment, trend, or lifestyle pieces. Candidates should be an adept photographer and no stranger to social media.
